poplar plains house
Potential Realized
Hectic lives can lead to design decisions being deferred. But a blank slate can be a chance to create a new, more family-focused way of life. Here, unconventional shapes and layouts bring conventional spaces to life: an iconic, faceted coffee table has echoes in the angle of the couch and the graphic custom carpet. Rich textures – rattan, marble, natural woods – create an ebb and flow from one space to the next. A hidden TV and sleek storage hint at the family room’s dual purpose: organized, yet easy-going kids’ zone and sophisticated, adult entertaining space. Best of all, one long uninterrupted view from the front of the house to the back lets you take in every moment.
