The art bench offers solid seating for any room or hallway, though its true intent is to act as a platform for showcasing a hefty sculptural work or artfully arranged stack of books. Stocky three-and-a-half-inch square column legs ensure the bench can support generous amounts of weight and stand up to rugged use.

While its rustic character offers strength and stability, there are also moments of unique expression found in subtlety, such as the circular sole carved into the base of each leg to give the bench a microscopic lift from the floor. A tactile experience is also created at the through-joint intersections, now gently sanded to form shallow divots that are smooth to the touch.

wood
Clean and remove stains using lemon juice or vinegar. Serving boards should be left to dry in a flat position.

blackened-steel
Clean using a warm, damp cloth and mild detergent.

copper
Make a simple cleaning paste of table salt diluted in a ¼ cup of lemon juice and rub over the surface using a soft cloth. Do not rub with too much abrasion, as copper is prone to scratching. Rinse with warm water and dry with a clean cloth.

bronze, brass, and other metal
Use a soft cloth to clean or dust, and Simichrome to achieve a high polish.
