The newest generation of our Apple Box pays homage to the beauty and grace of distressed metal. Its satin brass surface texture has been organically pummelled to form shallow ridges and indentations. These purposeful irregularities introduce a new type of materiality to any room or outdoor environment.
Abd’s Apple Box series was originally inspired by the wooden crates typically used on film sets to prop up dolly tracks or as impromptu seating. For years, Ashley has admired their rugged versatility and has used them in her own home as pieces of furniture.
Each Apple Box is handcrafted, allowing for subtle variations in texture and colouration to occur. The final form is given a renaissance wax as a protective layer and to prevent tarnishing.
